Close to zero. Assay (the Differentiate verb) measures the NEW information a lens adds with KSG mutual information. A redundant lens adds ~0.0 bits and is rejected; a diverse one adds real bits and earns its place. The contract is explicit — ≥0.05 bits and ≤0.6 correlation — so a panel is earned, not guessed.

A new lens has to earn its place

The Differentiate verb is realized as Assay. Its question is sharp: when you add a lens to a panel, does it show you anything the lenses you already have can’t? A new pair of glasses earns its spot only if it reveals something genuinely new.

Bits, measured — not guessed

Assay answers with mutual information (a KSG estimator): literally, how many bits this lens adds over the rest. That turns “is this lens useful?” from an opinion into a measurement. It enforces a redundancy contract:

or it is rejected. This is the Count graph put to work, and it is itself a grounded decision — the panel is justified by measurement, not by hope. Assay’s bit-accounting also gates the higher verbs: the Oracle’s honesty rule (panel bits ≥ anchor entropy) is the same idea pushed to “only speak when you have the signal to.”
