What the paper argues

The Calculus of Association (also circulated as FormulaForAGI) is the founding theory document of Calyx. Its claim is that intelligence can be treated as the measured calculus of association — and that four operations are enough to express it: Measure, Count, Differentiate, Compose.

The move that makes the calculus work is refusing to flatten. Meaning is stored as a constellation — one input seen through many independent lenses — and the lenses are kept separate end to end, so association can be measured (how much agreement, how many new bits) rather than merely asserted.
